Nepal is gearing up for their return to the T20 World Cup stage with a strong and youthful squad, as announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal. Led by Rohit Paudel, the team is eager to make their mark, with their first match scheduled against The Netherlands on June 4 in Texas.
The selection process saw players being recognized for their outstanding performances, both in the ACC Premier Cup in Oman and against the West Indies A team currently touring in Kirtipur. Paudel himself showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable century against the touring side.
All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, fresh from his record-equalling feat of hitting six sixes in an over against Qatar in April, brings dynamism to the squad’s batting lineup. Other key contributors include Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh.
The squad features several young talents, including Gulshan Jha and Pratis GC, who have already made an impact at the U19 World Cup earlier this year.
Sompal Kami, the lone survivor from Nepal’s debut campaign in 2014, brings experience to the team alongside Karan KC, a beloved figure among fans.
Lalit Rajbanshi will spearhead Nepal’s spin attack, adding depth and variety to their bowling arsenal.
Here is the complete squad for Nepal: Rohit Paudel (captain), Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratis GC, Sundeep Jora, Abinash Bohara, Sagar Dhakal, Kamal Singh Airee.
